The Sheridan Blackhawks pushed their score all the way to 60 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a rough 85-60 loss at the hands of Indianapolis Bishop Chatard. While losing is never fun, Sheridan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Indianapolis Bishop Chatard is ranked 106th).
Several Blackhawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Garner, who scored 12 points. Damon Winston was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Even though they lost, Sheridan were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indianapolis Bishop Chatard only racked up 22 assists.
Ethan Roseman was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten assists for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard. That makes it five consecutive games in which Roseman has scored at least 25% of Indianapolis Bishop Chatard's points. Another player making a difference was Cash Moore, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 4 assists.
Sheridan has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Sheridan is on the road again on Thursday and play against Monroe Central at 5:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Indianapolis Bishop Chatard and Greenfield-Central will round out the year against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at. One thing working in Greenfield-Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
