Football Recap: Cherokee Bluff Piles Up the Points Against West Hall

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cherokee Bluff). They blew past the West Hall Spartans 54-15 on Friday. With the Bears ahead 38-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Cherokee Bluff got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tony Rushin out in front who rushed for 58 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Haley, who picked up 129 receiving yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cherokee Bluff was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 303 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Cherokee Bluff is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for West Hall, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
