The Calvert Cavaliers will be home for the holidays to greet the Patuxent Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Calvert and five for Patuxent dating back to last season.
Last Wednesday, Calvert was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-48 to La Plata. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Calvert in their matchups with La Plata: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Patuxent had to suffer through a rough 76-36 loss at the hands of Northern.
Calvert bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Patuxent, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Calvert came out on top in a nail-biter against Patuxent when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 40-38. Does Calvert have another victory up their sleeve, or will Patuxent turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
