The Beaver Dam Golden Beavers stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 72-37 win over Brookfield Central. Given Beaver Dam's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Lancers are ranked 269th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Josie Piurkowski and Dylan Romero certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Piurkowski scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Romero scored 14 points.
Brookfield Central struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They are winless (0-3) when they just don't pass the ball.
Beaver Dam's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.7 points. As for Brookfield Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Beaver Dam's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Red Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on January 30th. As for Brookfield Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
