Selah is a perfect 10-0 against Prosser since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Vikings will host the Mustangs at 3:00 p.m. Selah is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.
Selah is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Moses Lake just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against the Mavericks, falling 9-3.
Aspin Grubenhoff was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kymbree Brost, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Prosser came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Wildcats 18-2. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won eight matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.
Mallory Barnhart made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Barnhart was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Lina Lefebvre was incredible, going 2-for-4 with seven RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Keelyn Cox was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
Prosser hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.
Prosser's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Selah, their loss dropped their record down to 15-4.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Selah hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .440. However, it's not like Prosser struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Selah's way against Prosser in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Selah made off with a 12-0 victory. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
