Estacado is 8-2 against Snyder since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Estacado Matadors will look to defend their home court against the Snyder Tigers at 6:15 p.m. Estacado will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Last Tuesday, Estacado came up short against Levelland and fell 49-39. While losing is never fun, Estacado can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Levelland is ranked 85th).
Meanwhile, Snyder strolled past Sweetwater with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 53-34. The win made it back-to-back wins for Snyder.
Estacado's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-11. As for Snyder, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-15 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Estacado against Snyder in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 69-19 win. With Estacado ahead 36-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
