The Olympian Eagles will be playing at home against the Escondido Charter White Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Olympian entered their tilt with Montgomery with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Olympian came out on top against Montgomery by a score of 22-13 on Friday. That's two games straight that Olympian has won by exactly nine points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Olympian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Coby Dunn, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown. Ceejay Clavier was in the mix too, providing Olympian with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Escondido Charter had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 20-14 win over Classical Academy on Friday. The victory was just what Escondido Charter needed coming off of a 21-0 loss in their prior game.
Escondido Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nick Patterson led the charge by rushing for 125 yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Classical Academy to a paltry 175 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Escondido Charter's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Joe Scates and his two sacks.
Olympian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Escondido Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
