Madison had won two straight games and Juliana Davis did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Madison Cubs blew past the Southwestern Rebels, posting a 58-30 victory thanks in part to Davis, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. The contest was her sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Mylee Mcqueary was another key player, going 7 of 11 on her way to 16 points and six rebounds. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.
Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Savannah Nussbaum, who posted three points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those eight boards gave Nussbaum a new career-high. Madison's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Southwestern, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-5.
Madison wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-41 victory against South Ripley on the 3rd. As for Southwestern, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Austin at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th.
