Basketball Recap: Kaleik Cook Key Part of a Team Effort in Spartans Win

Mid Valley's game on Tuesday was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against the Dunmore Bucks by a score of 59-49. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 55-37 back in January.

Mid Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaleik Cook out in front who went 6 for 9 en route to 14 points and eight boards. Cook has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Jakob Lesher was another key player, going 8 of 14 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Mid Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Mid Valley now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Dunmore, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Mid Valley will take on Honesdale at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Mid Valley is facing Honesdale at the right time seeing as Honesdale is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Dunmore, they will venture away from home to face off against Holy Cross at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Holy Cross will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Dunmore surely won't give up without a fight.
