Dumas is 1-8-1 against Borger since March of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dumas Demons will head out on the road to challenge the Borger Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Dumas is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
On Tuesday, Dumas had just enough and edged Perryton out 2-1.
While Borger's fans didn't get a definitive result on Tuesday, they were treated to the team's highest-scoring tie of the season. Neither they nor Pampa could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Borger has been dealt a draw since back in January.
They avoided a loss thanks to
Adan Cardenas and
Ulises Castaneda, who posted all three of Borger's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 11 so far this season.
Dumas pushed their record up to 6-4-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three matchups. Borger's draw makes their record 3-6-4 on the season.
Dumas might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Borger in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Dumas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
