The Amesbury Redhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Hamilton-Wenham Regional 53-23. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Amesbury of the 49-22 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the loss, Amesbury saw an underclassman step up: Celia Tavares scored eight points.
Amesbury has not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Hamilton-Wenham Regional, the win (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.
Amesbury didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-19 win vs. Tech Boston Academy/Muniz Academy on the 12th. Hamilton-Wenham Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
