Catholic has gone a perfect 9-0 against Woodlawn-B.R. recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Bears will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 2:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Catholic has eight straight victories, Woodlawn-B.R. has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Catholic's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past St. Michael 9-0. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Davis Emonet was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last three contests. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
In other pitching news, Jake Tompkins looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Noah Lewis, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Ruckert, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Woodlawn-B.R. lost 14-4 to Zachary on Thursday.
Woodlawn-B.R. saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan James, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
Catholic's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Woodlawn-B.R., their loss dropped their record down to 4-19.
Woodlawn-B.R.'s pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .331. It's a different story for Woodlawn-B.R., though, as they've only averaged .208. Will they be able to contain Catholic's hitters?
Everything went Catholic's way against Woodlawn-B.R. when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Catholic made off with a 10-0 win. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
