The Towns County Indians won the last time they faced the Washington-Wilkes Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Towns County strolled past Washington-Wilkes with points to spare, taking the game 57-42. Given Towns County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Washington-Wilkes is ranked 409th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Towns County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Lallement, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Kaleigh Beaver was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds.
The victory made it two in a row for Towns County and bumps their season record up to 16-8. As for Washington-Wilkes, they dropped their record down to 7-14 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Towns County will square off against Aquinas at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington-Wilkes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
