The Millard Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the North Sevier Wolves at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
Millard is leaving town to face North Sevier after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Millard took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of American Leadership Academy on Tuesday. Millard hasn't had much luck with American Leadership Academy recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Zach Higgins was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Bodie Memmott was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, North Sevier put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Beaver Dam 16-6. The Wolves' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Gavin Fern looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Koy Wasden was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Davis Malmgren, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
North Sevier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Millard got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against North Sevier by a conclusive 13-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
