Durham is 8-2 against Pierce since November of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Durham Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Pierce Bears at 7:00 p.m. Durham is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Durham took a serious blow against Winters, falling 48-14. While losing is never fun, Durham can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 933rd, while Winters is ranked 386th).
Meanwhile, Pierce started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against East Nicolaus. They took a 20-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans on Friday.
The losing side was boosted by Alfonso Orozco, who rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
The losses dropped Durham to 1-6 and Pierce to 5-3.
Durham strolled past Pierce in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a score of 26-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Durham since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
