Valley Catholic had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-47 win over the Portland Adventist Academy Cougars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 72-65 back in January.

Despite the loss, Portland Adventist Academy still got an impressive performance from Dane Petersen, who went 10-for-19 on his way to 22 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Petersen's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Trygg Patchin was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Valley Catholic's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6. As for Portland Adventist Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10.

Looking ahead, Valley Catholic will welcome Oregon Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Portland Adventist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
