For the first time this season, Ridgemont will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will welcome the Ridgedale Rockets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ridgemont is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Ridgemont is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Fairbanks on Friday. They fell 7-2 to the Panthers. The Golden Gophers haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Ridgemont saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddox Thompson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Ridgedale was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buckeye Central.

Ridgemont's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Ridgedale, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Ridgemont was able to grind out a solid win over Ridgedale in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 6-2. Will the Golden Gophers repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
