The Roosevelt Teddies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by North Community on the road and fell 89-46. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Roosevelt of the 92-67 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Roosevelt lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Avery Wells, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Wells is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Calvin Peterson, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Roosevelt's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-8. As for North Community, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
Roosevelt will look to defend their home court on Friday against Robbinsdale Armstrong at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Roosevelt focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 on Monday. As for North Community, they will take on Minneapolis South at TBD on Wednesday. Minneapolis South has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 442 points over their last six contests.
