Sargent and Center are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Sargent Farmers will be taking part in a tournament against the Center Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sargent is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
Sargent is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Creede: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Sargent blew Creede out of the water with a 60-31 final score. The Farmers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Sargent's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kandace Pargin, who went 7-for-13 en route to 19 points in addition to eight steals and six assists, and Angelise Garcia, who went 7-for-14 on her way to 16 points along with seven steals and five assists. Pargin's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenzie Consaul, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 13 points.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Sargent was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They racked up seven more assists than Creede's also-impressive total of ten.
Meanwhile, Center didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against South Park on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 19-15 victory. The 19-point effort marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Center found their leader in sophomore Emiliana Valdez, who posted nine points and six boards. What's more, Valdez also posted a 60% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024.
Sargent pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.6 points over those games. As for Center, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Sargent was able to grind out a solid victory over Center in their previous meeting back in January, winning 39-26. Does Sargent have another victory up their sleeve, or will Center turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
