It was a good run, but the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They were outmatched by Farmington on the road and fell 67-15. Having soared to a lofty 81 points in the game before, Ironwood Ridge couldn't push the score so high this time.
Jaidyn Saucedo and Katelyn Cano certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Saucedo scored 13 points, while Cano scored no points. The contest was Saucedo's seventh in a row with at least ten points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Ironwood Ridge struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Farmington racked up 25 assists.
Farmington was led to victory by Ayana Toledo and Kapiolani Anitielu. Toledo scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Anitielu scored 15 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Toledo scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Caris Dale, who scored nine points.
Ironwood Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Farmington, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
