 Tyler Scott made a big impact no matter where he played. He  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits over five innings pitched. He also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Westside is undefeated when he allows at  most  two  earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Scott was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He also put up a  double, which was his first of the season.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Phoenix Herndon, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.  Westside  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
With the  win, Westside broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-5. As for Palmetto,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-10.
 Looking ahead, Palmetto will challenge Ware Shoals at 6:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8  runs per game  this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Westside will be paying especially close attention to Palmetto's  match: after Palmetto faces off against Ware Shoals, they'll take on Westside again  at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
