If the Nokomis Redskins were riding high off their 47-27 takedown of the Ramsey Rams on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Nokomis received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 48-31 to Altamont. Nokomis was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Altamont apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Nokomis' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Camryn Engelman, who scored 12 points, and Kinley Stolte who scored 5 points along with 10 rebounds. Engelman scored a full 38.7% of Nokomis' points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Nokomis' defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Altamont, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Nokomis' road trip will continue as they head out to face Hillsboro at 9:30 a.m. on December 9th. Hillsboro is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Altamont, they will head out on the road to face off against North Clay/Clay City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Clay/Clay City is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
