North Forrest is 8-2 against Collins since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. North Forrest will be playing at home against Collins at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
North Forrest will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Richton, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. North Forrest walked away with a 6-2 victory over Richton last Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Chancellor Rogers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, North Forrest's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Logan Hall, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Lontrell Strickland also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Collins). Everything went their way against Mount Olive last Thursday as Collins made off with a 16-3 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Collins got a massive performance out of JAKARI WILLIAMS, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was KENDALL JACKSON, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 1-for-1.
Collins always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .812. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Collins' victory bumped their record up to 2-5-1. As for North Forrest, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Collins' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: North Forrest hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. It's a different story for Collins, though, as they've only averaged .204. Will they be able to contain North Forrest's hitters?
North Forrest took their win against Collins when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. Will North Forrest repeat their success, or does Collins has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
