In this week's postseason power rankings action, one team rose to the occasion while another fell hard. Among the action were the efforts of St. Joseph's junior Jada Byers, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.
Can't Touch This
St. Joseph got a 56 - 6 win over Immaculate Conception last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Jada Byers. Byers rushed for 146 yards and five touchdowns. That performance made Byers one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
Movin on Up
It was another game, another high-octane performance for Wilson last week (their 3rd in a row). It picked up a decisive 'W' against Red Lion, finishing up at 36 - 0. No one had a larger role in the success than senior Elijah Morales, who brought his A game into the contest. He earned three touchdowns and 140 yards rushing the ball. Wilson's success was rewarded with a 11-spot boost in the power rankings, the biggest improvement of any team.
No Stoppin 'Em
There were a lot of high-scoring contests in the power rankings last week, but the 95-point effort in this one put it right at the top of the list. Emmaus earned a pretty comfortable 55 - 40 victory over Nazareth. Hopefully the win is satisfying enough on its own since Emmaus actually slipped four places in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Hodgson Vo-Tech (20th in the power rankings) and Middletown (10th). The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games. Middletown and Hodgson Vo-Tech both have plenty of landslide victories under their belts (Middletown with eight and Hodgson Vo-Tech with seven), but only one can come away triumphant this week. We'll find out who that is soon.
