The Peoria Panthers had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-47 victory over Arcadia on Thursday. That looming 49-47 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Peoria yet this season.
Leading Peoria to victory were Terrell Colenburg and Amir Brown. Colenburg scored 12 points, while Brown scored 13 points. Brown also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Desmone Brooks-conley, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Peoria's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.9 points per game. As for Arcadia, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Peoria won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Kellis at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Arcadia will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Browne at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th.
