Having just played yesterday, the Englewood Rams will get right back to it and host the Baldwin Indians at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
Englewood won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They took a serious blow against ED White, falling 58-12. Englewood has struggled against ED White recently, as their matchup on Monday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Baldwin scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They slipped by West Nassau 59-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Baldwin's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Nyrie Gabriel, who scored 17 points along with four steals and two blocks, and Janiylah Stallworth, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Gabriel continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Danasia Baxter was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Englewood's loss was their 13th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.2 points per game. As for Baldwin, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-11.
Englewood lost to Baldwin at home by a decisive 45-30 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Englewood have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
