Sherman is 2-8 against Lovejoy since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Sherman Bearcats will be home for the holidays to greet the Lovejoy Leopards at 5:45 p.m. Sherman is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
Last Friday, Sherman took a serious blow against McKinney North, falling 70-23. While losing is never fun, Sherman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 885th, while McKinney North is ranked 49th).
Meanwhile, Lovejoy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Greenville at home to the tune of 82-12. That looming 82-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Lovejoy yet this season.
Sherman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Lovejoy, their win bumped their record up to 13-7.
Sherman and Lovejoy were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January, but Sherman came up empty-handed after a 46-45 loss. Can Sherman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
