Baseball Recap: Robert C. Byrd Starts Season with Win Against Doddridge County

Robert C. Byrd had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Doddridge County Bulldogs. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

JD Ford and Logan Frum did most of the damage at the plate: Ford scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Frum went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Frum a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Floyd, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Looking ahead, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Robert C. Byrd Eagles face off against South Harrison Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Doddridge County, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against St. Marys at 5:30 p.m.
