Jackson Platt and Parker Filleman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Platt tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Filleman tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Platt also tossed no walks, which is notable because Lincoln Prep is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-5-1 otherwise. At the plate, Platt scored four runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Filleman scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave Platt a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nate Watson, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Mason Sanchez-Petersen also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Lincoln Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Anthem Prep came into Monday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 23-5 margin over Salome on Monday. The game marked the Eagles' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Adam Beeman was a standout: he scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jovan Durickovic, who scored three runs while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances.
Anthem Prep's record is now 3-6. As for Lincoln Prep, the win got them back to even at 6-6-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lincoln Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Anthem Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lincoln Prep came out on top in a nail-biter against Anthem Prep in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 8-7. Do the Lightning have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
