Norris is 0-4 against Bennington since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Norris Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Bennington Badgers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Norris sitting on five straight victories and Bennington on 23 (dating back to last season).
Norris can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past Northwest, posting a 50-14 victory on the road.
Blake Macklin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 234 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per carry. Macklin is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. Eli Holt also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Bennington stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Crete at home to the tune of 65-7. Given Bennington's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Crete is ranked 89th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Quinton Archer was his usual excellent self, rushing for 75 yards and three touchdowns. Peyton Sanmann was another key contributor, rushing for 80 yards on only six carries.
Norris is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Bennington, their victory was their 13th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0.
Norris lost to Bennington on the road by a decisive 35-20 margin when the teams last played back in September of 2021. Thankfully for Norris, Dylan Mostek (who rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
