Alvord had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Riesel Indians 9-1 on Friday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Alvord is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Riesel, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-10-2 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Alvord beat the Indians by a score of 10-1 later that day.
