The Cheylin Cougars stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 65-35 win over Wauneta-Palisade. The win was familiar territory for Cheylin who now have three in a row.
Cheylin was led to victory by Pablo Bermudez and Logan McCarty. Bermudez scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while McCarty dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bermudez has scored at least a third of Cheylin's points. Brady Ketzner was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Cheylin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Wauneta-Palisade, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Cheylin will head out on the road to face off against Logan/Palco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wauneta-Palisade, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-32 defeat vs. Maywood/Hayes Center on the 9th.
