The Overton Mustangs entered their tilt with Longview Christian with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Overton came out on top against Longview Christian by a score of 55-44 on Saturday. That's another feather in the cap for Overton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Overton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Catherine Delane, who scored 12 points. Delane hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Emery, who scored 11 points along with 7 assists and 3 steals.
Overton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Longview Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Overton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on New Summerfield at 4:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Longview Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Mary's at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
