The Lake Stevens Vikings will head out to take on the Kamiak Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Lake Stevens has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Wednesday, Lake Stevens needed a bit of extra time to put away Everett. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Seagulls 5-4. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by just one run.

Mara Sivley spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on McKenna Richer, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Alaina Emme also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Kamiak entered their tilt with Cascade on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bruins a 6-0 shutout.
Not much got past Gabby Veighey, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Cascade off the board.
At the plate, Kamiak's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Katie McBride, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. Those three hits gave McBride a new career-high. Another was Frances Famatiga, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Kamiak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.
Lake Stevens has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kamiak, their record is now 8-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Lake Stevens hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Kamiak struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Lake Stevens couldn't quite get it done against Kamiak when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-5. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
