The Piedmont Classical Bobcats came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Millennium, posting a 89-20 win on the road. Piedmont Classical has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 28 points or more this season.
La'Trel Smith had an outrageously good game as he almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Ja'el Lawson was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Piedmont Classical is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Millennium, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.
Piedmont Classical's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Phoenix at 8:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Winston-Salem Prep is on a four-game streak of home wins, the Bobcats a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Millennium will take on the Bengals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Triad Math and Science Academy is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
