The Palmyra Panthers came tearing into Saturday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Canton with points to spare, taking the game 52-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Palmyra also won the last time the pair played on January 6th.
Despite the loss, Canton still got an impressive performance from Preston Brewer, who scored 11 points.
Palmyra's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Canton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmyra will challenge Clark County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clark County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Palmyra is ranked 73rd). As for Canton, they will head out on the road to square off against Highland at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
