Marist had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Marshfield Pirates with a sharp 18-12 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Spartans have posted against the Pirates since April 14, 2022.

Finley Schweigert was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tizita Martin, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Marist was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .351 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

Marist pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Marshfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Marshfield has already played their next game (against Powers), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marist will be paying especially close attention to the Pirates' match: after the Pirates face off against the Cruisers, they'll take on Marist again at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
