The Hooper Bay Warriors entered their tilt with the Unalakleet Wolfpack with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Hooper Bay had just enough and edged Unalakleet out 77-74. Given Hooper Bay's advantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while Unalakleet is ranked 27th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hooper Bay's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carson Long, who scored 21 points. Long is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Latrell Lake, who scored 16 points.
