The Eastern Hancock Royals's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against Wes-Del by a score of 54-46. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Eastern Hancock also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Eastern Hancock was led to victory by Kayden Ruble and Luke Morris. Ruble dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Morris scored 19 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Morris has scored at least 25% of Eastern Hancock's points. Another player making a difference was Caiden Willis, who scored 10 points.
Wes-Del's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Love, who scored 17 points. The matchup was Love's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Gabe Becerra was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Eastern Hancock now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Wes-Del, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Eastern Hancock will look to defend their home court on Friday against Northeastern at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Northeastern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday. As for Wes-Del, they will head out on the road to face off against Union at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
