Ridgeland is 6-1 against LaFayette since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Ridgeland Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the LaFayette Ramblers at 7:30 p.m. Ridgeland is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Friday, Ridgeland came up short against Gordon Lee and fell 20-9.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 34 points the game before, LaFayette were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were outmatched by Coahulla Creek on the road and fell 48-9.
Ridgeland's loss was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-2 North Cobb Christian and 7-2 Bremen (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 66.9% over those games). As for LaFayette, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Ridgeland ended up a good deal behind LaFayette in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, losing 29-14. Can Ridgeland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
