Gilroy won against San Jose last Tuesday with two goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Thursday. Gilroy narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past San Jose 2-1. That's two games straight that Gilroy has won by exactly a single goal.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Noe Cardenas and
Nova Padilla, who scored.
Gilroy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5-2 record this season. As for San Jose, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7-3.
Gilroy will head out on the road to challenge Piedmont Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Jose, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gunderson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gunderson's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
