The Chadwick Dolphins will face off against the Flintridge Prep Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Chadwick took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Vistamar as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Dolphins haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
The final score came out to 25-18, 25-12, 25-12.
Chadwick found their leader in sophomore Emma Landsberg, who had nine digs.
Chadwick was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They are 6-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Flintridge Prep got the win against EF Academy on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Flintridge Prep was: they took every set by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-10, 25-8.
Chadwick better focus on containing Ally Perez and Kaitlin Ransford as the pair were huge in Flintridge Prep's win. Perez had four aces and three digs, while Ransford had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Ransford has posted over her last four contests.
Flintridge Prep's win bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Chadwick, their victory bumped their record up to 17-15.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Chadwick has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7 aces per game. However, it's not like Flintridge Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
