It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Windsor Warriors had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bulldogs as they made off with a 41-19 victory. The result was nothing new for Windsor, who have now won ten matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Windsor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but John (pie) manning led the charge by rushing for 144 yards and a touchdown. (pie) manning has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Aj Robinson, who threw for 120 yards and three touchdowns.
Bunnell's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jayden Turnage, who gained 102 total yards and a touchdown. Turnage was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 62 yards. KK Smalls was another key contributor, rushing for 90 yards and a touchdown.
The victory was the eighth in a row for Windsor, bringing their record for this year to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.8 points per game. As for Bunnell, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Windsor will take on North Haven at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (North Haven: 11.4, Windsor: 16.1) so any points scored will be well earned. Bunnell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
