The Wisdom Generals will head out on the road to face off against the Ball Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wisdom will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 982nd, while Ball is ranked 368th).
Last Saturday, Wisdom was beaten by Sterling 34-6. It was the first time this season that Wisdom let down their fans at home.
Meanwhile, Ball had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 53 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They didn't even let Northside onto the board and left with a 72-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Ball, who have now won eight matchups by 34 points or more so far this season.
Ball got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kyden Barker out in front who threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Justis Thomas and his 114 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Ball's win.
Wisdom's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Ball, their win was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.
Wisdom was taken down by Ball 58-0 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Wisdom avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
