After losing to the Charlton County Indians the last time they met, the Brantley County Herons decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Brantley County narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Charlton County 42-39.
When it comes to explaining why Charlton County lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Ja'mari Hamilton. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds. Hamilton scored a full 30.8% of Charlton County's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevan Cobb, who scored 8 points.
Brantley County's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Charlton County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brantley County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Atkinson County at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Atkinson County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 324th, while Brantley County is ranked 134th). As for Charlton County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pierce County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
