The Zephyrhills Bulldogs proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 25) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lakeland Christian and snuck past 43-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Zephyrhills.
Lakeland Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ralph Scott, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Scott continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Matthew Stephens, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Zephyrhills has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Lakeland Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zephyrhills will challenge the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeland Christian, they will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Frostproof focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Thursday.
