The Richland Colts will be playing at home against the Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Monday, Richland lost to Barnes County North co-op [North Central/Wimbledon-Courtenay] on the road by a decisive 59-44 margin.
Despite the loss, Richland got a solid performance out of Nick Mjoness, who scored 16 points. That was a full 36.4% of Richland's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Wade Gorder, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah]'s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 67-51 to Hankinson. While losing is never fun, Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 107th in South Dakota, while Hankinson is ranked 20th in North Dakota).
Richland's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah], their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-12.
Richland took their win against Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 60-37.
