The McNeil Mavericks will take on the Hutto Hippos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McNeil will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
McNeil is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Manor on Thursday as they made off with a 31-2 win. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Ethan Coronado was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, McNeil got a massive performance out of Justin Sandusky, who went 4-for-6 with one home run, nine RBI, and four runs. Those four runs gave Sandusky a new career-high. Tyler Schwarz was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three doubles.
McNeil always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .706. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Hutto had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out Vista Ridge 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hippos have posted since March 29th.
Jackson Reed tossed a big game, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, Michael Elquist was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Eierdam, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Hutto's victory bumped their record up to 9-18. As for McNeil, their win bumped their record up to 11-9-2.
McNeil skirted past Hutto 7-6 in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. Do the Mavericks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hippos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
