3A Region IV District 28 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Pleasanton extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region IV District 28 this week by beating Crystal City, 40-18. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
La Vernia moved up to 640 from 710 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bears were able to make the jump by beating Taylor 28-24.
Poteet's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Aggies feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Sean Rodriguez has thrown for 112 yards and one touchdown this season, while Ronald Sanchez has four catches for 56 yards. Kris Guzman leads the league in rushing with 232 yards.
A big matchup in 3A Region IV District 28 this week will be when La Vernia takes on Pleasanton. Bo Robinson's team is in fourth place, while Tab Dumont's team is in first place.
The Eagles led the league in scoring this week after putting up 40 points on the Javelinas.
