The Warren Central Vikings fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 27-20 win over Callaway on Friday. Given Warren Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Callaway is ranked 89th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Callaway had strong showings from Jeremy Scott, who picked up 159 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and Kantrell Thomas Jr, who threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns.
Warren Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Callaway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
Warren Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Callaway will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Neshoba Central at 7:00 p.m.
